VATRAL KULAMBU Ingredients 2-3 Tsp sundakkai vatral,or Manathakkali vatral or any vegetable(vegetable like brinjal,onion,garlic cloves,ladies finger) 1 small lime size Tamarind 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds 1/4 t sp urad dal a pit of Asafoetide powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp redchilli powder 1 1/2 tsp dania powder(coriander powder) 1/4 tsp sambar powder few curry leaves 1 small red chilli salt to taste METHOD Soak the Tamarind in 1 cup of water and extract the tamarind juice.add little some water,salt,all the masala powder (redchilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,sambar powder and few curry leaves),mix well and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds ,when they crackle add urd dal,fenugreek seeds, broken red chilli and the vatral(sundakkai vatral or manathakkali vatral or vegetable),fry for few minutes Add this to the tamarind juice and bring to boil and allow to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes The gravy get thick ,dissolve a teaspoon of rice po...
