1 cup arhar dal
1/4 turmeric powder
salt to taste
1/4 t mustard seeds
urad and channa dal 1 t each
a pinch of Asfoetida(hing)
1 tomato
1 onion or 2-3 baby smal onion
few curry leaves
few coriander leaves
1/2 whole red chilli
1 small green chilli
2 t ghee

  • Pick,wash and soak the dal few minutes
  • Add the salt, turmeric powder and cook with water till the dal is soft.
  • Wash ,and chopped the green chilli,onion,tomato fine.
  • Heat ghee add the mustard seeds .when thay start cracking add uradal and channadal cook few minutes, add the hing,and 1/2 red chilli,chopped onion and curry leaves.
  • The onion get brown add the green chilli,tomato,fry for few minutes and add curry leaves.
  • Add the boiled dal and 1/4 cup water to the masala .and cook on slow fire till well mixed
  • Serve hot sprinkled with garam masala and coriander leaves.

Punjabi dal


100 g urad dal

50 g channa dal

3/4 t turmeric powder

1 onion

2 green chilli

1 small piece of ginger

1 t red chilli powder

salt to taste

few chopped coriander leaves


  • Pick,and wash the dals.
  • Cook the dal in the pressure cooker.In this case you let the channa dal come to boil with out closeing the lid,.put channa dal to boil in approximately 2 cup of water.cook for 5- 8 minutess,and add little water,turmaric powder,salt. And add the urad dal ,close the lid and let to cook come to full cooking pressure..After 1-2 whistle ,reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.leave the cooker cool. than open .The dal shoud be well cooked,
  • If you boil the in water ,boil the water first and add the channa dal ,and turmaric powder,and salt cook for 8 - 10 minutes,it well cooked add the urad dal let it boil,than reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes till both the dal are tender and well cooked ,but not mushy.
  • Chopped the onion,green chilli,thinly sliced the ginger.
  • Heat 2 t ghee add the finely chopped onion fry till it reddish in colour.and add the finely chopped green chilli,and slice ginger fry for few minutes.
  • Add the red chilli powder the chilli powder and fry lightly. Remove from heat and pour over the boiled dal serve hot garnish with coriander leaves.



50 g split urad dal

50 g split moong dal

50 g channa dal 1/2 t turmaric powder

salt to taste.

1 onion(finely chopped)

2-3 cloves

2-3 chopped garlic,ginger

2 chopped green chilli

1 t red chilli powder

1/2 t cumin seeds

a pinch of asafoetode(hing)


  • Mix all the dal and wash boil in a sufficient water along with salt and turmaric. Bring to boil in a cooker 5-8 minutes. Add water and close the cooker lid ,reduce the heat and simmer for 2 - 3 whistle .leave the cooker cool than open .The dal shoud be well done and tender

  • Heat ghee in pan fry the chopped onion when it became brown .Add the cloves,chopped garlic,chopped ginger,chopped green chilli,fry for few minutes.Than add the red chilli powder.,cumin seeds and hing,fry lightly.remove and pour over daal.

  • This daal shoud be with thick gravy.

  • Serve hot garnic chopped coriander leaves.



150 g moong dal

1/2 turmaric powder

salt to taste

1 t red chilli powder

1/2 t garam masala powder

1 t cumin seeds

1/2 t coreander powder

1/4 t asafoetide 2 green chilli

chopped garlic and ginger


  • Pick,and clean, washed and soak the daal few minutes.
  • Take a cooker ,bring to boil sufficient water add the turmaric powder,and salt and add the soaked moong dal when the dal comes to boil,reduce the heat close the lit and put a whistle and simmer for 5- 8 minutes .Till the dal is cooked tender and almost mushy.
  • leave the cooker to cool ,than open.the daal shoud be well done.
  • Heat 2 t ghee or mustard oil in a pan fry 1 t cumin seeds when seeds are fried. Add the 1 t red chilli powder,1/2 t coriander powder ,hing,greenchilli,and chopped garlicand ginger.fry for few minutes.pour over the daal
  • Serve hot springle the garam masala.



200 g yellow moong dal

1/4 fenugreek seeds

1/2 mustard seeds

1/4 t turmeric powder

1/2 t red chilli powder

1 stick cinnamon

1 green cardamom

2 t coconut (grated)

2 green chilli

a pinch of asafoetide few curry leaves

few coriander leaves.

2 t jaggery

3- 4 cup water

salt to taste


  • wash the dal and and add water in to the dal and cook until soft.
  • heat oil in a pan add mustad seeds it when thay start cracking add the asafoetide,fenugreek seeds,greenchilli,curry leaves fry a little,and turmaric powder,.
  • remove from fire and add the dal.
  • put the 1 stick cinnamon,caramom,chilli powder,coconut,jaggery,salt and red chilli powder.
  • bring to boil few minutes.if water required add little water.
  • mix and simmer for few minutes,.the dal become thick.remove form fire.
  • serve hot garnish with coriander leaves,



100 g urad dal

200 g rajmah

2 onion

1 piece ginger

2-4 garlic cloves

1/2 t turmeric powder

1/2 t pepper powder

1/2 t garammasala

1/2 cup ghee

2-3 tomato

3-4 chilli

few chopped coriander leaves

1/2 cup cream

salt to taste


  • soak the dal over night .or 6-7 hours
  • chopped the ginger,garlic,onion,tomoto, green chilli.
  • take a pressure cooker add the both soakeddals,chopped onion,chopped ginger,garlic,and all the masala(turmaric powder,pepper powder.salt,garammasala,)and water till the mixer is cooked tender,
  • heat the ghee in a pan fry the chopped green chilli,chopped tomatoesand coriander leaves fry for few minutes and add the cooked dals.simmer till they are well mixed.add the fresh cream stir.
  • serve hot.



100 g urad dal(whole)

25 g rajma

1/2 piece ginger

2-3 cloves garlic

1 small onion

1 small tomato

50 g curd

3/4 t red chilli powder'

1/2 garam masala

1 t

3-4 cup water

3-t ghee

2-3 t cream.


  • Wash and soak urad dal,rajma over night.
  • Chop the ginger,onion,garlic.and tomato.
  • Take a prassure cooker add water,soaked urad and rajma,chopped ginger,garlic,and salt.
  • Cook for half an hour.
  • Remove fire, cool.mash the dall.Add more water if requair.And leave it on slow fire for another half an hour .Stir frequently,
  • Heat ghee fry chopped oniontill golden brownand add chopped tomato,fry for few minutes.
  • Add red chilli powder,garam masala powder,salt,and curd and let it cook for few minutes.add this mixer to the boiled dal to the masala and cook on slow fire till the dal well mixed.
  • serve hot with cream.



50 g Arhar dal

25 g uraddal

25 g moong dal

1/4 t turmeric powder

salt to taste

1 onion

2 tomato

1/4 t sambar powder

1/4 t red chilli powder

1/4 t coriander powder

few curry leaves

a pinch of hing

1/4 t jeera

1 whole red chilli

1 green chilli

1/4 fengreek seeds

2 t ghee

1/4 small piece of tamarind.


  • Pick and wash the arhar dal,urad dal,moong dal.Add salt and water cook in a pressure cooker.
  • Cook the dal(arhardal,uraddal,moongdal) for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from fire. the lid.add more water if requier.
  • chopped the tomato.onion.
  • Take one chopped tomato,add the redchilli powder,turmaric powder,coriander powder,sambar powder and small piece tarmarind put in mixer grind it to a paste.
  • Heat the ghee ,add mustard seeds ,when they start cracking.
  • Add fenugkseeds,asafoetide,red chilli,whole,green chill whole.
  • Fry for few minutes. Add curry leaves and add the masala,tomato paste, add little water cook for few minutes.
  • It well cooked add the cooked dals and mix well add more water and cook on slow fire till well mixed and thick gravey.
  • serve hot garnish coriander leaves.
